Old PSXs definitely needs extra ventilation! I like the blue LEDs I used one in my Super Nintendo.

lol. The PlayStation does not need a fan. The IC's were designed this way ^_^

@Haunted360 Tell that to my 2 PS1 dead by overheating xD

@CrakerMc You are incorrect. The PS1 can NOT overheat! Not unless you have it next to a heater and purposely heat it. You most likely, fried once of the IC's, because you shorted it out, or fried another component. It does NOT overheat!

@Haunted360 I'm incorrect? Why one of my PS1 WITHOUT OPENED BEFORE died on 1997 without reason? (I was playing FFVII about 7 hours without stop) And another of my PS1 died too on beautiful summer of 2001 xD
Did you thing PS1 don't have overheating problems? Ok, it's your opinion, but my experience don't tell me same thing.

@CrakerMc Well, it would have not been heat. Anything could have happened. Mainly, it is the PSU that goes first, then / or a fuse. Extremely unlikely is an actually chip that burned out (as you call overheating). If you know your electronics, open it up, and test the PSU. Then check the test points on the PS1 mainboard.
