He did this with a rigged power supply. Chances are you are using the power supple in the 360 with your SATA cable going to your computer.
You need to have your AV (audio video cable) plugged into some kind of display otherwise the x-box with shut off after 5 minutes. I just left mine plugged into my tv but you might be able to use a monitor with HDMI.
Doing this should keep power to the drive.

I can't get JungleFlasher to see my hitachi drive so I have to use this method. So far I've been able to get to ModeB just fine, but the xbox keeps shutting off before I can get the drive to read the audio disc (which is what the problem is with the drive....)
how do i keep the xbox from shutting off? or how do I power up the drive separately from the xbox360, like a different power cable or something!?

(Mode B without SLAX, start xbox - eject drive - hold the drive, shut xbox down AND hold the drive - then you start and hold it again. now drive is in modeB. 2 click's to close it)
