Philippine Airlines Flight 434 December 11, 1994 Boeing 747-200B In-flight terrorist bomb, damage to control systems Terrorist Ramzi Yousef smuggles a bomb aboard Philippine Airlines Flight 434 on the first leg of its flight. On the final leg of the journey to Tokyo the bomb explodes, killing a passenger and damaging the aircraft's control systems. The pilot makes a successful emergency landing in Okinawa. The larger plot to bring down as many as a dozen aircraft is foiled.

in situations like this, it's amazing just how brave people can be, not only the the pilot, co-pilot and flight engineer but the flight attendants as well. They all leaped into action, kept the passengers from panicking and did their jobs.....

@bayyagg i did not say that phillipinos are the worst pilots.my point is that phillipino pilots have never made any discoveries in the past which affect the way how modern pilots are trained and how modern airplanes are constructed.phillipino pilots are good but they are not the best.the best pilots are those who have encountered with situations where they had to go beyond the procedures that are listed in the p.r.h manual to safely land a plane and manage to give a testimony.

@bayyagg i have mentioned jamaica because they have a zero incident record for 40 years of operation and ethiopia because it has the first pilot to ditch an airplane on water without killing all on board and the way their pilots handle the continuous terror attacks on board their airplanes.this pilot have made a discovery that changed the future of airplane manufacture and pilots training.if there are any discoveries that a phillipino pilot have made i would like to know.

@bayyagg phillipino pilots receive the same training as other pilots around the world.what i am trying to say is that a phillipino pilot have never pushed an air plane beyond its capability or do something in which they were not trained to do to save the life of their passengers,phillipino pilots have never yet made any discoveries which changed the future of aviation.this incident was as a result of poor airport security so after this incident the changes were in airport security not aviation.

But including such country as Jamaica and Ethiopia as one of the best will make ur comment unequivocally erroneous!

Most of the Filipino PiLOTs that am talking about have migrated in Australia, New Zealand, USA, and Canada. So, that made themselves co-equal pay w/ their WHiTE counterparts!

U might be commenting about those junior Filipino PiLOTS, who got jobs from other AirLines!

@bayyagg what i was trying to say was that this single incident where all the pilots did was to declare an emergency landing cannot prove that the best pilots are from the phillipines.i have heard of cases where an aircraft have lost all its hydraulics and the pilots had to use engine compression to steer and land the aircraft"now that was amazing"this was something that an aircraft was not designed to do.phillipino pilots were not place to the test in this situation.USA,ETHIOPIA AND BELGIEUM.
