Brisbane was hit by a deluge on the 6th of February, causing wide spread damage to property. A teenager drowned in a swollen creek.

The rain however increased the combined dam levels to nearly 30% which is fantastic. Just a few months ago the combined levels were below 15%.

The pictures were taken from the Courier Mail web site. The music is by Michael Fix.

  • Yes that's true. We always wonder how people in Europe or USA cope with floods, especially in winter.

  • Im moving to Brisbane for a couple of years and the thing I am most looking forward to is the weather ! not just the warm , but the wonderful clouds and storms you have , I just need to pick an area, with a train to the city for the hubby, I quite like the Manly area, or the other way nr shorncliffe. I was in Melbourne for a while and love the Aussie people and way of life. London is cold 2 degrees and windy sleety snow. yuk
