This is my second batch of Avocado Oil Soap. My first batch was done with refined Avocado oil but I used Unrefined in this batch because I though ..hey even more yummy goodness for my skin. :) lol I also wanted to test my scale to see if it was accurate because the lye should be cooked out at about 4 hours of cooking. This is my favorit soap to use on my face. I find it's gentle and that my face is smooth and oil free . (I have oily skin on my face anyway) This batch though didn't quite turn out as planned. I'll explain what went wrong in the next video. ;0)

  • Hi where did u get the unrefined avocado oil?

  • @sapmolina Well I am in Canada so there are a few suppliers here that I love. The best I find for my oils is voyageur soap and candle company. But you can get unrefined Avocado oil at new directions I believe as well. And possibly Canwax. All are Canadian suppliers. I prefer to use Canadian suppliers when possible.

  • Try lining your mold with a piece of plastic wrap instead of the greasing. It will pop out with no effort and peel off with ease. :)

  • @SoapAcademy Thank you! I do the greasing only when I'm using my plastic containers as molds. When I use larger molds i use reynolds freezer paper. It's good to know that plastic wrap won't melt when soap is poured over it. That was something I worried about. :)

  • Nice try! Soap is temperamental sometimes but you'll get it next time! 5*s! ღஐƸ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒஐღ

  • Yes..yes it is lol! As my husband says the more failures I have the closer I get to success...and the more fun I have too! :0)

  • @BuffAngela158 ...I think once you start using a plastic liner you will toss out the wax paper. Plastic wrap works fine for small batches, but if you do a bigger batch you may want a heavier plastic sheet. Like maybe a kitchen white garbage bags cut up.

  • oh yes I've already rebatched this soap and made the vid. I just have to fine tune it and post it so another one will be up soon. Unfortunatly I'm gonna have to wait a couple of weeks for my new scale *sigh* before making anymore soap but i'm gonna attempt to make my shea body butter (in a bar form maybe?) using ratio's instead of weight measurements....that should be funny. ;0)

  • Well it was really drying. I used it myself and found it a little drying on the skin so I used it for my face, which I actually liked because I have oily spots on my face. Another friend tried it aswell and said that it was really too drying. She had to apply lotion a couple of times after her shower. I didn't realize at the time that unrefined Avocado oil has significantly more AHA's than the refined Avocado Oil. I know that now after I rebatched it and tried it again. lol Oh well... :0)

  • Im glad you uploaded a new one. I hope to see some more soon :-)
