The famous Ground Zero Cross was blessed by Father Brian Jordan before being moved to the 9/11 Ground Zero Memorial and Museum. The ceremony occurred on July 23, 2011 at Zuccotti Park, across the street from Ground Zero. Video by www.SteveSpak.com
"we will keep that cross at ground zero as a reminder for gods love for all of us"
except for the 3000 peoples lives it took to make the cross, i guess god thought we needed this symbol of his everlasting love more than we needed our loved ones.
@cryptor13 god bless this stolen land that non-chrisitian natives had and which the stealers first invaded to escape the very religion this "god" comes from. god bless a country that was attack by honest followers of their religion and whom were more than successful thanks to god favoring them on that day. No wonder secular countries laugh at us. It would be more impressive if god skipped the torture device (crucifix) and made an image of jesus out of the vertical and horizontal (cross) beams.
@etburki21 It tells you that we build buildings with vertical and horizontal beams and that the people that died, weren't alone when they were allowed to die with thousands of other people by a god these idiots are trying to give credit to after the slaughter. A perfect roman torture device isn't something I'd rely on for comfort.
Even if many were not christian it doesnt mean they're go to hell......in no matter what faith or not they belonged to we are all brothers and sisters together. <3
that is not what it is doing people. For the love of god, listen to what the priest says. I consider myself an agnostic and I am the first one to argue against ultra religious fanatic individuals, the priest is just conducting a blessing and his first words were those of other religions. it is an eerie coincidence that a perfect cross is found while people our searching through wreckage. It tells us all; whether you are a muslim or a jew it tells us that " You are not alone."
@cryptor13 Putting that cross in a memorial is stating that the victims who were not Christian are now burning in Hell. Having a cross in a national memorial is a slap in the face of what America stands for
I can understand why christians want to keep the symbol as a monument after all it took 3000 deaths just to create the thing. god must really want us to have this reminder of how much he loves us.
It isn't a disrespect to other religions and it isn't a promotion of Christianity. That cross was put into place during construction, and it kept standing following the events of that tragic day. It was only removed for cleanup and construction. Now that cross is back where it belongs, on the grounds from which it was constructed in the 70s, and the grounds from which it stood 10 years ago when everything else fell. It is there to stay. God Bless America! From Sea to Shining Sea!
I BELIEVE IN GOD.
I AM A MAN OF SCIENCE.
ALL I HAVE IS FAITH.
AMEN.
