The office of Civil rights visited my school to make sure we created ELD classes for students who were not English proficient at t eh expense of kids who speak English by cutting almost all of our electives so we could create ELD sections instead. Language acquisition is not a right protected by t he Constitution!! Most of the students who are ELD were actually born and raised in the US but their parents, community, their friends, and entertainment all speak SPANISH! No reason to speak English!

If a person who does not speak English and does not know the culture of the US then what chance do you think they are actually US citizens? All of these factors add up to us paying much higher premiums to cover for those who do not have health care coverage already. If OBAMA care goes through we are going to add millions more to the roles who aren't going to pay and therefore anyone who is legally here and are working will pay for those who do not belong and are not paying?!?

This is buls@*t!! When and how did language acquisition become a civil right?!? If you can't speak the official language (California's official language in the state code is ENGLISH) then it is your responsibility to provide your own interpreter!! This makes me sick!! This is the same strong arm tactic used in public education!! Why do you think our health care costs are so high? You are paying for all types of interpreters and other language and cultural support staff! Think about it...
