Picture a a traffic jam stretching for over 16 kilometers and lasting for over 10 hours. That is what motorists on Mombasa Road experienced on Sunday. The heavy traffic snarl up started building up at a diversion near Emali after a truck overturned on the slippery diversion following heavy rains. Is the country prepared for what weathermen are warning could be an Elnino phenomenon? Rita Tinina reports.

  • yet this is suppossed to be the road that is the backborne of our economy. Why in our 45 years of independence havent we ever built a mombasa Road that we can be proud of? i measure the strength of our economy by the effectiveness of this road.
