If Japan does not recognize parental kidnapping then why is the man in jail? Because he is not a Japanese citizen? He is the father.

I'm adult but I'm even scared to stay in USA, especially Seattle. It's indeed very nasty and risky place to stay for any "jap". Children would never realize the risk but the mother knows it so she would never let the jap child go, by her maternal instinct.

@lauraleesmithagain conclusion- What I've stated is documented fact from articles that went into detail on court orders etc.  Not the sensationalized, unspecefic attention grabber type stories that most of the American Media fed to the public.

And while staying in America (due to the American court order) She requested that he not let the kids around the woman he had an affair with as they didn't even know their mom & dad were getting divorced & that their dad was going to remarry. Yet he had the kids around her all the time!-

But that wasn't enough for him... He also wanted to take the children away. So he told the mom that he wanted to make their marriage work and would give up the affair if she brought the kids to america. As soon as she & the kids came to the airport he slapped her with a court order to keep the kids hostage in America-

In fact, for some reason, most of the US coverage did not cover the facts (and the US coverage that did cover everything didn't receive as wide attention).
