http://www.meredithmanor.edu/ Meredith Manor, the only nationally accredited equestrian career college in the US, is dedicated exclusively to preparing students for successful careers with horses. Riding majors include Dressage, Jumping and Western. Career Emphasis Areas include Training, Teaching, Equine Massage Therapy, Breeding, Horse Health, Barn Management, Business Management, Farrier and Forging.

All programs and courses are designed specifically to prepare you for a successful equine career. Our students spend 6 hours a day in primarily hands-on, skill based classes with additional time spent in the barns and with the horses. Students don't have to excel in academic, classroom based classes to be successful in our programs, but they must have a passion for horses and a dedication to having a successful equestrian career.

Because we are such a specialized school, Meredith Manor has a very small yet diverse student population. We generally have 80-100 students of various ages from all over the globe. Due to our small enrollment, students are able to receive the individualized attention necessary for a skill based education.

We are committed to a hands-on teaching and learning process that will provide our students with the critical skills necessary to enjoy life-long careers in the horse industry. Programs range from 3 months to 2 years. Federal Financial Aid is available to qualified applicants. For more information visit our website at http://www.meredithmanor.edu/ or visit us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/meredithmanor.

  • I attended MM from fall 07 to spring 09 and I loved every minute of it. I learned so much there about patience, loyalty, friendship, and best of all how to work WITH your horse and how to communicate WITH them calmly and without fights. It was an amazing experience going there and i think about it and miss it every day. Thank you so much MM for helping me be the equestrian i am today!

  • Graduated from MM in the Spring of '07- had the best time of my life at the Manor. Learned a ton, grew as a person, and I miss it every day. THE place to learn how to work with your horses and help them grow!

  • I really want to go here looks like fun :D

  • I wanna go there. I'm going to study in 'normal school' to be a horse vet. However, I would really like to go to this school afterward. It looks like an amazing experience!

  • Merideth Manor is my dream college. I woudn't only go there thow. I want to go to UCDavis after.

  • @mooneypadfootprongs You’re welcome! Yes, research & finding the right fit is essential. Unfortunately, it's often difficult to learn about the actual education provided. Few if any 4-year degree programs will even have 50% equine related classes, & most have a much lower % hands-on with horses. If you’re relying on internships for hands-on time, research thoroughly. There are some great internships available, but often your education falls low on your boss’s priority list.

  • @MeredithManorIEC Thank you for replying to my comment. I think that as she is a freshman in high school, she has lots of time to explore all her options. I did the same (am now a senior in high school applying to universities to double major in Equine Studies and Biology) and it paid off. Finding what fits you best is what is important. Bachelor degree with about 50% hands on experience 50% knoweledge (experience including interns) or 100% hands on without academic classes. Best to explore all!

  • @mooneypadfootprongs Good point, it's important to be aware of the educational opportunities available & understand their differences. MM is vocational- our purpose is to provide students with skills needed for equine careers, so our classes are all horse related & mostly hands-on. A liberal arts college’s purpose is to provide general knowledge & develop intellectual capacities, so most classes will be academic, non-equine. The best fit depends on the student’s goals & preferred learning style.
