The Corinth city officials, particularly the mayor and council member Ruggiere, are out of control. The citizens of Corinth need to stop the corrupt practices of these officials by becoming active in their local government. Sim Portnoy, founder and head of the Citizens of Corinth for Transparency and Accountability, answers the question, "Why CCTA?" and further explains why you should be concerned about the actions of your local officials. Whether it is a million dollar federal lawsuit stemming from police brutality by three Corinth officers upon a 15 year-old boy in which the elected officials did nothing to prevent and punish or the political payback favors by council members in the form of votes for campaign contributions, our small city is overrun with political corruption.
The CCTA stands for three very basic principles: 1. Safety and security for our citizens, 2. Responsible economic development that increases quality of life and property values, and 3. Responsible use of our tax dollars.
Right now those three principle are being ignored. Act now by voting or by signing the petition to recall council member Rugierre and prevent him from becoming mayor or from holding any public office in our city or county.
