Clips from an interview in 2001 with Douglas Adams. He talks about the relationship between science and science-fiction, the importance of a positive perspective on the future and the nature of "technology that works". He also talks about his project called "Last Chance to See" where he travelled various countries observing a few rare species and how it widened his perspective.

  • So long Douglas, and thanks for all the genius!

  • I miss this person's mind.

And I'm totally with him on things 'working' - I'm still waiting.

  • Why do the good die young?

  • @stevebritgimp

I think your gonna have to wait a while for stuff that actually works. Seeing as stuff that breaks after a short while and people mindlessly buy a new one soon after, is much more profitable:P

  • He was a spark of genius and left a very clear imprint that will be remembered for a very very long time. Rather then mourn his passing I chose to celebrate his work and ideas!

  • I relally liked DNA's idea about being +ve about the future. It's just a shame that the 'powers that be' are all psychopaths!

  • Such a wonderful talent, so sadly missed

  • You know how much zoologists make at first when they graduate and get a job they get 242,202 !! thats crazy

  • I've read "Last chance to see" and I must admit that I never expected that a book about endangered animals could be so extremly funny and serious at the same time! 0-o

I loved ever tiny bit of that book!! :D Douglas was a brilliant man. ^^

  • Me too

  • ID is in my profile.
