Based at Scotland's Hotel Pitlochry the MGF Register's longest running event (14 years and counting !) was in fine fettle. With two long runs planned over the weekend the somewhat damp weather made for some challenging driving conditions particularly on the 260 mile Sunday stretch out to Mallaig on the west coast. In fact due to the rain and some ponderous caravanners many did not make it that far but shortened the loop by 80 miles at Fort William. The previous day saw the cars circling the Cairngorms making good time so that stops on top of the mountains were possible before heading down to lunch at the Register stalwart of the Nethybridge Hotel.
