Rudy Giuliani defends New York City sanctuary city policy in 1996.

Executive Order 124 which limited the ability of city personnel to deal with illegal immigration was reaffirmed by Giuliani.

(Current New York City sanctuary city policy is under executive order 41 issued by Michael Bloomberg. Bloomberg said of illegal immigrants, "Let them come".)

Rudy Giuliani speaks at Harvard at the Kennedy School of Government on immigration (both legal and illegal) and the 1996 Welfare Reform Act on October 10, 1996.
Giuliani's prepared remarks are here:

But the actual speech differs from the prepared remarks due to Giuliani's speaking style.

Giuliani quote: ''What we will try to do is interpret this as narrowly as we can,'' he said. ''We can remind people that no one is required to turn in the names of illegal aliens, and we can encourage people not to do that.''

  • He's an idiot!

    Huckabee is the next president

  • Huckabee is as bad as Giuliani on illegal immigration. When Governor of Arkansas, he gave taxpayer money to help the Mexican consulate. He wanted to give scholarships to illegal aliens for college. He strongly opposed efforts to end illegal immigration. Of course, now he says he is opposed to it. Well, duh.

  • Huckabee was against the the racism he saw in his state and went overboard... I think his stance on II has become much like his beliefs on the death penalty... he grudgingly seeks a balance... he will strengthen our border and improve the immigration process, so that counter balances his weakest area... Giuliani I do not believe will counterbalance any of his weak spots... my choice is Huckabee over Giuliani.

  • Huckabee has repeatedly played the race card against those who are opposed to illegal immigration. He uses the slur of racism to slander his opponents who want to enforce the law. He denies that illegal aliens take jobs from Americans and thus denies what are legitimate reasons to oppose illegal immigration.

  • The big picture here is that the Republican, Bush, didn’t close the borders, the Democrat, Obama, didn’t close the borders. They want the same thing — one world government, no borders, copying the EURO pattern. Sanctuary cities are the same thing = United Nations Agenda 21 and ICELI.

    Everyone needs to know what United Nations Agenda 21 is before they vote!

    YouTube or Google it — study it! It’s the number one problem facing America.

  • C SPAN "Black Republican Forum" Session 2 (begin at 11:30) Allen West stated part of Amnesty of 1986 was to secure our borders and enforcement our laws, but haven't happened. (We're still talking about new amnesty like DREAM Act.) We can't allow local cities to make sanctuary cities policies, because they will bring our inner city turf wars to epic proportions by bringing in the drug cartel and Columbian gangs. (Mexican Gangs don't recognize US borders established Treaty of Guadalupe)

  • In November 2010, the unemployment rate was 9.8% with 15.1 million unemployed. (15.1 million/9.8%) = 154 million are able to work in the workforce. 11,941,812 (or 11.9 million) skilled jobs provided to illegal immigrants. GOOGLE “illegal immigration counters”, the 15.1 million unemployed could take the 11.9 million available jobs. The unemployment rate could be reduced to 2.1% {{15.1-11.9)/154}
