A great new sport, watch how "Tag Rugby" is a fun, fit and fast variation on the old game. While some chose to watch the Lion's in South Africa 'live', we were pleased to be in town for the second Rugbaí Corca Dhuibhne Beach Tag Rugby Festival which took place Saturday June 27th at Muríoch Beach, on the North side of the Dingle Peninsula.

Of course you and some friends can always organise your own game of Tag Rugby on the wide sandy stretches of strand found around this coastline of south west Ireland.

Find more about the Dingle RFC at http://corcadhuibhnerfc.com/main.htm and about Ireland Tag Rugby at http://www.irishrugby.ie/tagrugby/15242_home.php

  • we are trying to build tag rugby league up in yorkshire with festivals

  • this game was invented by a rugby league coach in australia. tag and touch rugby were both invented as training techniques for rugby league players! Makes me a bit annoyed how Rugby yawnion has now claimed it as its own. They sould be calling it tag rugby league. Just annoys me how some onion fans hate league but will claim its training games as its own! Union are a bunch of hypocrits

  • Looks like great fun, It's great for kids as well. In South Africa there is an initiative to introduce this form of the game and promote sport awareness to underprivilaged kids(5 Upwards). It seems with great success. Anyone konw where this form of the game was invented?

  • Sean - I wish you'd told me about this, I would have brought a team over from Rugby! Looks great fun. Nick
