The problem is that people are so afraid of the consequences of acting to stop the genocide in Darfur that they don't act. No matter what plan of action we choose there will be some sort of negative impact. Removing Bashir from power could end the genocide in Darfur but it could also cause Darfur to be plunged into civil war. That is why the full U.N.-A.U. peacekeeping force must be deployed so that there is security for Darfurian civilians. The UN must mediate peace talks.
