For our scene, our group chose the Shakespeare's The Taming of The Shrew Act I Scene I. It is our goal to portray the concept of metadrama by acting out what is essentially a "play within a play." We include Sly as a member of the audience when the scene is being acting out the second time as well as indicating in the end that there are other audience members. Thus, it is the second time that the concept of metadrama is apparent as the audience is present. Also, we felt by employing St. Mary's theater as the setting of the play there would be a suggestion of metadrama. In conclusion, we thought that action out the scene in two ways, one in which it is not being performed as a play and the other whereas it acted out theater style, the significance of metadramatic syle would be better appreciated.
