UFO Filmed Over Oakley North West Hampshire 05/09/09 From Near A339 Wootton St Lawrence

Oakley, North West Hampshire, From Wootton St Lawrence, Hants 05.09.09
We shot this footage at 8:15 pm tonight, September 05, 2009, whilst parked-up off the A339 near Wootton St Lawrence, (close to Basingstoke), looking out over Oakley, NW Hants.
I actually asked out-loud for a ufo to appear, (something which I have tried before and it sometimes works), and remarkably it did, not long afterwards....and only a short while after we had begun our skywatch.
My partner Hilary watched from inside the car through hi-powered binoculars and she could not see any strobe lights. I stood outside and filmed, walking along the edge of a field to get this shot and I can categorically say that there was no sound at all coming from this thing high in the air, no flashing lights, and the object disappeared behind some treees, despite my looking on the other side, fully expecting to see this thing emerge.....but it had just vanished, with no cloud for it to go into either, in that region of the sky.
I didn't have time to set up the tripod, so hence the camera movement, as this was a large, semi-professional camcorder that I was using...quite heavy to hold.
Also, the wind was blowing from the north, while the object was travelling west to east.

I know the difference between Chinese lanterns and something strange; this was a large object with no flickering as you would get from a pathetic tealight. Chinese lanterns ARE and LOOK crap...especially when zoomed in...there is hardly anything to see with one of them.

Did anyone else see the ufo over Old Basing common at 6.00pm on 31/12/10?

Bright orange light hovering around. Definately not helicopter or lantern. Just slowly winked out in the end. First time I've seen such a thing.

i saw a light just like that were i live it was big and at it was at night and it was just parked there and i went back inside and came back out it was gone

we saw this from the wirral at around the same time... fire was dropping off it and at first i believed it to be a chinese lantern until it started violently moving side to side and fire was dropping off it.... then more apeared mabey 2 or 3 :/ strange huh?

I've seen a few of these cylinder pod shaped objects and they are NOT man made.

Just my opinion, i believe these cylinder shaped objects are a part of a larger object that they detach their selves from, again just my opinion.
