[[ Episode 12 Part 2 ]]
4 hours had gone by and the screaming match continued. Hayden and I had insisted on waiting for Jesse and Ella before we left for dinner but seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into hours. Eventually we had decided to go our seperate ways and save the group dinner for another night. Milo and I had made reservations for Baxter's Bistro and Lounge but decided to grab something quick and walk around The Village, enjoying each other's company.
"Aria would have loved this place," Milo confessed, "She always loved mountains and snow, she would take this over a tropical getaway any day."
Since the moment we arrived, I could tell that apart of Milo was missing Aria. It was the first vacation he had gone on since he had lost her and his thoughts continued to drift, which led me to believe that he missed her very much.
"I'm sorry," he apologized, "I shouldn't be talking about her."
"No," I responded, "It's okay, I enjoy hearing about her. She was a big part of your life and you can't just stop talking about her, it takes time."
"You like to hear about her?"
"I do," I answered, "In a way it helps me know what you look for in a girlfriend. I know that no one can ever measure up to what you and Aria had but it helps me learn what you want if I ever want to play an more important role in your life."
Milo stopped walking and turned toward me, putting his hands on my cheeks and lifting my face up toward his. I looked into his eyes and felt my stomach turn into knots. It had been so long since I had felt feelings this strong for anyone other than Jesse. It felt like a breath of fresh air, even though I still had fear of the unknown.
"You do play an important role in my life," he responded, "I never thought I could ever have feelings for someone else and if I did, I never thought they could be as strong as the way I felt for Aria. But the more time I spend with you and the more time I see how beautiful you are inside and out, I can't help but fall hard for you."
"Milo..."
"I love you August."
And that's when my fear of the unknown quickly faded away. Milo was a breath of fresh air, a new kind of love, and he made me realize no matter how bad past experiences of love had been; there was still a chance to experience love the right way.
"I love you too."
When our lips touched, I knew at that instant that I could trust Milo with my heart. I could trust him to take good care of me and not let me down.
LATER THAT NIGHT.....
When Milo and I arrived back to the Condo, Jesse and Leo sat on the couch watching Football. Meanwhile, Hayden stood in the kitchen making another brew of Hot Cocoa with a towel on her head and headphones in her ear.
"You're here!" Leo exclaimed with a whisper.
"Yes I am," I responded, "What's up?"
"I need to talk to you and Jesse out on the balcony," he responded, "it's important."
"Go ahead," Milo whispered, "I'm going to take a shower."
Before he left, he kissed me on the forehead forcing me to blush uncontrollably. Thankfully, Jesse and Leo were to wrapped up in football to even notice.
"Come on," Leo whispered, "it's half time."
I followed behind Jesse as we made our way onto the balcony, into the cold air. Leo closed the sliding glass door behind him, taking one last glance at Hayden.
"Tomorrow is it." Leo whispered.
"It is?!" I exclaimed.
"Shhhh," Jesse retorted, "That's awesome man."
"I want to do it on the slopes tomorrow and I want the two of you to be there." Leo said.
"Of course Leo," I responded, "Whatever you want."
Great! A day on the slopes with Hayden, Leo, and... Jesse
