It took a long time over a year i would say I never intended to comb them out . I was trying to get the lint out of the ends I used a tail comb hope this helps

I like them both for different reason my locs @ theyre longest length were hitting my lower back LOVED that! But having my hair loose Im always surprised by what my hair is able to do Its so versatile
