Holly Pike talks with Barbara Hershey-Handler (www.thequilthandler.com) about "Texture Magic". It's a backing that you stitch onto material then shrink with steam. The steam causes the backing to pucker up 30% smaller than original size. With the stitching in place you end up with what looks like smocking but without any effort. Watch this movie in LARGE size to really see the effect. It shows up well in the video on the lighter colored fabrics but in person you can see it well on dark fabrics too.
