Outstanding tone woods - Honduran Mahogany (genuine not african ) and brazilian Rosewood . This piece was purchased from tropical exotic hardwoods in CA. and was originally brought here to the states by a civil engineer who worked in brazil back in 1955 before they made it illegal to import / export back in the 70's. It was stored in His home woodshop in denver colorado until He left this world when it was then purchased by TEH in CA. several years ago where I purchased it from just a few months ago . This wood was and is exspensive - A neck through like this increases the price of the guitar by another 2500.00 U S dollars so it is not for the bargain basement yardsale hunter . This guitar will go for about $10,000 - Ten thousand dollars and will feature 2 - 1972 Gibson Embossed Mini Humbuckers from a Les Paul Deluxe and a Full size Humbucker (also from 1972) from A Fender Thinline Telecaster Seth Lover Wide Range Humbucker in the bridge position .

  • "Honduran Mahogany (genuine not african )" Mahogany is mahogany no matter where it comes from. Honduran may sound better than African but it is NOT more "genuine".

  • @danmar007 Wrong !!! Swetenia Macrophilia is Genuine Mahogany - African Mahogany is not Mahogany its not the species even elated to mahogany - they call it mahogany but it is NOT ! Genuine mahogany comes from central and south america thats why its called genuine mahogany - you obviously dont know what youre talking about - look it up before you start flapping your gums and wagging youre tounge .

  • Can we hear this guitar anywhere?

  • @cowie86 It's still not finished yet ?! I have so many other guitars too that need to be finished ?! I am way behind - no worries it's just about done honestly . I need to put the frets in and put a finish on it .

  • I stand corrected.

  • @Logicallyrare ...It's because, you want a specific orientation of the grain of the wood for the neck for stability and often you can't find big enough piece of wood to make a one piece guitar.

  • @brorbjoern There is not a waste of wood ?! Why do people think that ? It's because they are not building guitars . The excess wood is used for neck thru's this is a stupid argument against building a 1 piece guitar ?! I have built several 1 piece guitars and they are the greatest constuction technique ever - hands down - tone and sustain , dynamics and harmonics .

  • @JohnnyTsak316 well... or maybe it's because differing neck and body woods would be difficult to attain with a one-piece... not to mention it would be a horrific waste of wood to make guitars in the fashion suggested...

  • man, you could hear how hard that brazilian rosewood is just watching johnny move it around.

  • @JohnnyTsak316 Wow thanks for this insight because I actually have been coming up with my own guitar designs and I definitely what it to be one piece from the start. I think this will certainly provide the best sustain and design simplicity.

  • @Logicallyrare because that's the way they have made them historically and is wrong from the start . They have gone to luthier's school and that's the way they were trained to build them . Plus the jigs and machinery has been made to accomodate that style of construction at their factories . Their idiots . ignorance is bliss . they have made millions of dollars off of their antiquated design and they are arrogant . it's hard talking to a successful buisness about a better way to build guitars .

  • I don't see why almost nobody seems to make both the neck and body one piece from the start?

  • When the wood has been cut out of a Slab - it has to sit for about 6 weeks to move where it wants to go . I leave them alone after I cut them out on the band saw especially if they are flat sawn pieces .Once the wood has settled into it's comfort after its cut out I then replane it and truss rod and reinforce it so it wont move down the road in the future . Thanks for asking .

  • Wheres the one piece ash stevie you started last month!!!! I'm DYING!!! I need to see it. Maybe it was limba I dunno.

Can you make sure you film it directly from the side so I can see the lines of the neck as it comes into the body?

    Please post that vid!! :-)

  • Your woodworking is really nice
