The title tells about the voltage, not the current.
Graphite has a Resistivity of about 8 Ohm*mm^2/m.
Letzt say their part is 5cm long and has 3 mm^2 (A short piece of a pencil). Makes 0,133 Ohm. What will result in 180 Ampere with 24V.
The power supply surely has a limitation for the current. I think max. 20A. What still is 480 Watts heating power.
