According to my dad..Mireille Mathieu sang here in the USA and was well known back in the 60's ...she was on American tv a lot. I guess she decided to go back to France because she was never seen again. Thats why people of my generation and younger have no idea who she is

@ilovegerardway656 Please look this woman up and listen to the voice she once had. I grew up listening to her music. She was a very beautiful woman with an astounding voice. I've been searching for her music and I've finally found it...I had her name misspelled. Mr. Grobin has a beautiful voice, no argument there. But she is the legend on that stage at that moment and I'm sure it was an honor for him.

I can tell by a lot of the comments that are as many people with so little musical knowledge. Mireille has sung duets with the greats. Domingo, Nana Mouskouri, Elvis Presley, Englebert Humperdink, Tom Jones, Connie Francis,Julio Inglasias, Demis Roussos, and the list goes on and on. Humperdink sang "Les Bicyclettes de Belsize" in her honor. I think some people need a little education before commenting. It is Groban who is honoured here.

Mireille Mathieu was born in the South of France in 1946. Her first performance was in November 21st 1965 and in the very next year, she was already famous worldwide. She's the Ambassor of the French Culture nowadays. Look up at some of her songs, especially the album "De Tes Mains". She's amazing and in this video it isn't her best performance (and her accent is stronger than on her other english songs) but she's gorgeous. If you still hate her after watching her other videos, you're an idiot.
