Well Blackthorne, even shiva purana, Devi purana and such glorifies each of the significant personalities as supreme. Its wrong for you to say vaishanavas are ignoble and arrogant just based on what they believe in. Every sect believes theirs is the only way. Typical Vaishnavaism. I personally dislike Abrahamic faiths like Christianity because they say their way is the only way to salvation. Hinduism respects that each must follow their svadharma, their own individual path towards the creator. But Vaishnavas...in their SMRITI scriptures they have Krsna claiming to be the one and true and only granter of moksha. If there is one sect in all of sanatan dharma that has that ignoble, arrogant trait of Christianity - it is the way of the Vaishnava...
