There is something so easy about Chuck Mead's music...a thread that runs from his BR549 days through the coming of his new solo album Journeyman's Wager, due out soon. He is reverent of the old forms, but does them with such gusto that you just don't think of them as old. To wit, Chuck led off his SXSW set for us at Threadgill's with a Bob Wills tune. Enjoy "Cadillac In Model A."
That's the legendary Carco Clavé on pedal steel, Marty Lynds on drums, & Mark Miller on upright. A lot of music for 4 musicians!
