阿明說:是不是台灣人不是看護照或身分證

4/29/10: I wasnt born in Taiwan. My Taiwanese is pretty bad, my Chinese even worse. Chinese, I can read at about kindergarten level. Bopomofo for me are the ABCDs. I cant speak Hakka, and I cant speak any of the dozens of aboriginal languages. My math is horrible. Ive never served in the army. Theres a lot I dont know about Taiwanese history. Taiwan is a small island, but there are still a ton of places Ive never been. I dont know most of Taiwans customs or holidays. If you ask me to go to KTV, Im just going to eat food. If you ask me to choose between stinky tofu and a hamburger, Ill choose a hamburger. I rarely say that I love Taiwan. But despite all of this, Im still Taiwanese, and no one can tell me Im not. Just holding a Taiwanese passport or Taiwanese ID doesnt make you Taiwanese. You dont have to be living in Taiwan or have ever been to Taiwan to be considered as Taiwanese. Whether or not you want to call yourself Taiwanese is for you to decide.
