Tomb Raider legend: Croft Manor the gold crest puzzle walkthrough.

This video is of poor visual quality so we apologise for that. Our video capture card doesn't work and needs replacing. So we recorded this video with a digital camera off a LCD screen. This is a small walkthrough to obtain the gold artefact in the Croft Manor.

To start this task of finding it out, you must enter the library /study room.


The first riddle / clue to the puzzle are as follows;

"Above the Waters, Twin Sisters turn their backs upon the other to leave the Ambages unguarded"

Remember the two statues in the pool room you turned before to get the second underwater gate in the pool to open? Well you need to get back there and this time, rotate the statues so they face away from each other. Then the second clue to the riddle / puzzle will show it's self.

The Second riddle / clue to the puzzle are as follows;

"Within the Hall of Knowledge, Tomes of Cerulean, Topaz, Viridian, and Crimson in turn reveal their Arcanum"

The Halls of Knowledge is the library / study room. So you have to run along back there. There are four coloured books in a few of the bookcases in the library / study room, which you may have seen. Well now they are sticking now, these are triggers for a hidden third part of the riddle / clue. You need to push them in this order;

(Blue -- Yellow -- Green -- Pink)

Once you do this the hidden room shows it self, and now you have the third part of the riddle / clue at your finger tips.

The Third riddle / clue to the puzzle are as follows;

"Above the Hearth, revealed visage and countenance touched in haste raise up the Steward"

Leave the study and back to the top of the stairs in the main hall. You can now see that a tongue switch / trigger has replaced the original décor. Before you active either one of them use the grapple to pull down the three flag polls on the glass wall. Now then active one of the tongue switches / triggers and then swing across to the other side to the opposite tongue switch / trigger and activate that. You are timed on this but you can do it really easily in the time they give you. Now you will get the forth part of the riddle / clue, and Athena's statue will rise up.

The Fourth and last riddle / clue to the puzzle are as follows;

"The risen Athena turns to face the Sun, whose burden then reveals the Golden Laurel."

So then drop down and turn the Athena statue to face the window over the hall staircase, and then stand on the switch floor tile at the foot of the stairs. The Athena statue will sink into the floor and then on a stone platform with the gold award on it will rise up. Go back up the stairs and then swing on the flag poles till you get to the middle one, and then shimmy along the middle poll till you are hanging over the gold crest. Simply drop down and pick up the gold crest and you have finished the gold crest puzzle / riddle.
