Eurovision 1979 - Norway

For ESCsince1968, this is Anita Skorgan performing "Oliver", the Norwegian entry at the 1979 Eurovision Song Contest.

The 2nd of Anita's 3 appearances at the contest (she had 2 more as a backing singer), and my personal favorite among them, a truly lovely light-disco tune with a flawless performance by both her and the backing vocalists. Its 11th place may not seem much, but it was a very decent showing in a strong year, not to mention that it was Norway's best ranking since 1973 (and the best they'd do for another 4 years).

This was a big hit in Germany on the radio stations in 1979 , she recorded it in German and they still play it on the radio stations today !

Familiar name; I remember her representing Norway several times. Glad to hear she is still active. She's lovely, kind of resembles a young Lindsay Wagner, and this is my favourite song of hers :)
