I love this song, i've listened to this album when i was 13 in san marino...the wonderful atmosphere of the historical context, and this music has made an indelible memory of melancholy!!!
To colmich959 - Thanks for the tune. I'm sure you also like the song Logie O' Buchan and the rest, if you have the album, if not look it up it's worth it.
To PvStosh - 7 months ago you requested the lyrics to the Straw Man, I have the lyrics. But I'm an old folk who's only had the Internet in my home for about a month now. I tried to post them here for you, but the 500 character limited cut me off so I removed the comment. I have it typed up in MS Word. How can I get this to you?
Years ago I learned this wonderful waltz by ear from the Battlefield Band's "Leaving Friday Harbour" CD. Unfortunately I lost that CD and for several years I couldn't remember the music of the tune.
Thanks to this video I rememer it again. I now play it over and over on my fiddle.

I liked the song so well I bought the album. If you have never been to Friday Harbour/Harbor you have really missed a beautiful place.
