Horror Gone Metal

I've noticed that many Metal bands have made songs out of wellknown Horror movie themes. So I decided to put together this video to show 6 good examples of this. I tried to put in as much video as possible to make it just as interesting to watch as listening to.

NB! If you know any other Metal bands that have borrowed melodies from horror movies, please inform me!

Well I could hear similarities with Phantasm in the first song certainly, but I really struggled to notice anything similar in some of the other tracks.

Guess my hearing is not tuned into same frequency as Death Metal :-)

Incidentally, the intro to the Ozzy Osbourne song "Hellraiser" was ripped directly off some of the musical cues for Cenetery Man.

As a side issue, the lyrics to the song "Seven Doors Hotel" by "Europe" (remember them?) were direct refernces to Fulci's "Beyond"

The similarities are there, but it might be hard to hear. Like for instance Necrophagia's "Cannibal Holocaust" song, which is a down-tuned faster played take on the original theme.

I've heard the Europe song, and know about the reference. Pretty bizarre that they actually have a song about The Beyond.

There's a bit in the middle of Sabbat's "The Dwelling" (around the 40 min mark) that bears a small resemblance to the Phantasm or Halloween theme. Can't remember which though.

Part of Dark Angel's "Pain's Invention, Madness" sounds like music from Evil Dead 2. I know it is more of a comedy than horror though.
