@starlionblue The Germans probably did talk about the Hood in the same way. This is war and lets not forget that the Germans were on the attack, not the British... The Bismarck needed to be sunk.

@igorfly21 you really should get a better education...simply being in the armed forces does not have a single thing to do with being a member of the Nazi party. Many in the armed forces weren't even there by choice - for many, it was mandatory - if you didn't, worse than you can think could happen to you, or your family. My Grandmother's father was one of them - he wasn't even German, or Nazi - he was Estonian, and hated Germans and Russians-but was forced to join when they fled.

@igorfly21 the DeutscheMarine had NOTHING to do with Nazi policy and were notoriously anti the dictatorial regime. They were just a tool of Hitler's government and they would have had way of saying no! Learn your facts before you open your mouth you fuck-wit !

@starlionblue Robert Ballard's book mentions evidence that the Bismarck was scuttled not sunk outright. Ballard himself states that Bismarck could have floated for days had the British ceased fire and left her.
Bismarck threatened the convoys that kept Britain fighting and had sunk the pride of the Royal Navy. If Bismarck had made it to France and been used with the Tirpitz the war could have taken a very different turn.
