Nora had a plan. It would bring her ex-husband, Jose (Fernando Lujan), and the rest of their family together for one last magnificent Passover feast. But there is a flaw in her plan- a mysterious photograph from the past, hidden under the bed, which leads Jose to re-examine their relationship and rediscover their undying love for each other.
Nora's Will (Spanish title: Cinco Dias Sin Nora) is the award-winning first film from Mexican writer/director Mariana Chenillo. Nora's Will was the big winner at the 52nd Ariel Awards, Mexico's Academy Awards, winning Best Picture, Best First Work, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actor (Fernando Luján), Best Supporting Actress (Angelina Peláez), Best Original Score and Best Makeup. Writer/Director Mariana Chenillo is the first female director to win an Ariel Award for Best Picture.
Variety calls the film "warm and entertaining", and it has been charming audiences at film festivals all over the world. It has won awards at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, Miami International Film Festival, Mar del Plata International Film Festival and Moscow International Film Festival, among many others. Nora's Will opens in select US theaters on April 2nd, 2010.
