Paul Stokey (Maryland, US) has this best-known composition "The Wedding Song (There is Love)", which charted in 1971 and remains popular for performance during wedding services. He wrote the song as a wedding gift for Peter Yarrow, and refused to perform it for the public until Yarrow requested it at a concert where his wife was present. Didn't discover this song until its' resurrgence in the 80's. In the 70's, most of the weddings I attended (not many) played "that Carpenters song". I was quite tired of it. When I heard this, I thought, "That's the one for my wedding!"
