When you stop and think about it, I think this could have been originally written as a poem, then set to music like my friend and I do. Jay's voice, and the melody bring the soulful plea to the ears of someone who was, in fact betrayed by the voice of Jay.

Just so relaxing to listen to, but at the same time, such sorrow.

I suppose it is true; you only appreciate what you have had once it has been lost.
