Today most people don't know that Grace Kelly was actually not the first princess to come out of Hollywood but Rita Hayworth. On May 27th in 1949 Rita married Prince Aly Khan in the small town of Vallauris in the south of France. The wedding was a big news item worldwide and pictures of Rita and her prince graced countless magazine covers. In late December of the same year Rita gave birth to their daughter Yasmin.
But unfortunately, the marriage didn't last long. Already in 1951 Rita returned to the United States where she soon filed for divorce that was finally granted in early 1953.
