The World's Ugliest calf's first baby

The worlds ugliest had her 1st baby this morning. It is a bull calf sired by 249SR1757 Stenslanda. His mother keeps watch over him outside the pen. He shares the pen with 3 Holstein heifer calves. The pens are well bedded as the temperature outside was well minus zero with the wind chill. The calves were separated from the cows to prevent them from fighting over the calves thus preventing possible injury.

Lets be realistic. In the ideal world every calf plays happily in the meadow with his mother beside him. Some still do, but others are taken away at just a few hours and some get shot at birth as they are worthless. Its a sad old world now. Do we really want to pay this price for our cheap milk?

In the ideal world we dairy farmers would get a fair price for what we produce and therefore be able to afford a cow spa and resort for them during their retirement years . FYI, the reason these calves aren't out in the meadow is because it was taken during the winter and was minus 0. The are separated from the cows otherwise they would fight over them and possible trample them. That wouldn't be very humane now would it?

All of you people who are freaking out about the calf being away from the mother, If you watch her she doesnt leave the pens side When she breaths you can see it! You can tell she is cold. Atleast this dairy farmer is letting them be by the momma and not taking them from them for ever, Yes when it comes weening time He will have to leave her side,Yes he may be hamburger meat, SO WHAT! Yall eat plants they are alive if you think about it. We raise our own meat Safer then what you get a the store

@mrssyringa theres plenty of " milk " alternatives.. oat, soya, rice etc.. all very nutritious and no animals harmed in the making : )
