@talivan0009 Derek might have been a refill, but you can't deny that his lasting influence helped shape DT into the band they are now. Also, without his optimism, the band would never have survived the production hell surrounding Falling into Infinity.

Plus he wrote two of the best DT songs ever (Lines in the Sand and Raise The Knife)

As awesome as this is you cant really argue with the finished product they released in the end. They still used most of the themes cut a few cool riffs and sections but the result was a prog metal masterpiece, it could be worse imagine a world with no Metropolis part 2 atoll or part 1, haha!
