KINNAUR KAILASH (CHARANG-LA)

ANUP, MALOY, PIJUSH & SAMIR had crossed the CHARANG-PASS. Kinnaur was forbidden to trekkers till a few years ago. Consequently these trails have been seldom used or explored since they were discovered over two centuries ago. The Kinnaur Kailash Range borders the Disctrict of Kinnaur in the south and is dominated by the Kinnaur Kailash (6349 Mts) and Jonkarden (6473 Mts) peaks. The only pass on this trek is the Charang La at an awesome altitude of 5300 Mts above sea level .The trek is challenging and also rewarding for experienced trekkers.

Thanks for video i did 1 round of kinnaur kailsh in 1990 it was so memorible and i miss kinnaur and pepole of kinnaur

Amazing coverage. I am wondering did you also went to the shivling and is it on the way of this circuit? Any video's of shivling and the view from top of the summit facing kalpa?

@valienem We did not summit, only crossed the Pass (Charang-La). Sorry, I don't have any Picture / video of Shivling.

Kinnaur Kailash is situated in Himachal Pradesh, located on the Indo-Tibet Border. Best time is OCTOBER.

You have to arrive at KALKA and then to REKONG-PEO by car.

Day 1 – Rekong-peo to THANGI by care and from there you have to trek upto SURTING NALA (6/7 hrs.)

Day 2 – Surting to LALANTI (5/6 hrs)

Day 3 – Lalanti to CHARANG BASE (4/5 hrs)

Day 4 – Charang Base to Chitkul Village via CHARANG PASS (4950 MTRS) (8/10 hrs)
