Buffalo Soldier Isaac Rice's story is an historically correct epic of love, hatred, and redemption unfolding amid the violence of the American Civil War, Indian Wars, Reconstruction, and spillover bloodshed from a Mexican Revolution. Isaac is beset by utterly unforgettable characters: a Confederate guerrilla, a Union cavalryman, a black female activist in Mississippi's Constitutional Convention, a Mescalero Apache warrior, and a Mexican nurse. Along with tragedy, they bring history and humor into Isaac's life.
