i think maybe the dog would be fine with the kittens without you telling him off. dogs afterall have puppies so they have to be good to some small creatures.

@Sharpshooter226 yeah, don't worry, i'm not thinking the kittens were harmed, i know the lab didn't hurt them :) i was just curious. as i said, i would freak out the first time, but then i would be cool about it... i just imagined myself watching for the first time

Yeah when we saw him carrying off a kitten for the first time I yelled at him to drop it. He did, walked off, and the kitten followed him. After awhile we realized he wasn't hurting them.

Is that bigger black cat the kittens' mother? If so, she doesn't seem to be very protective of them!

She's the mother of three of them, but she took care of 2 other litters too. I don't have a clue where the other two litters came from, I swear one group just came out of some tall grass one day! None of the other female cats wanted anything to do with them. A lot of the adults seem to trust the dog.
