Laptop LCD to Desktop VGA monitor converter

NEW UPDATE: I Plan on selling this whole set up (LCD+ control board) so if you are intrested in doing a project with this just let me know. im looking to get at least $80 out of it. its a 15.5" lcd

IT REALLY WORKS!!! I used my old LCD from a broken laptop and converted it into a VGA LCD for my desktop PC! it cost around $35 bucks to buy the part to make this happen. if you have any questions please feel free to ask me.

I just repaired the right hinge on mine with a McDonalds straw, pulled the heatsink and peeled off a sheet of lint like you'd find after drying 3 loads of cloths. Yep, 1525 is a tough laptop. I installed Italc client on it and gave it to my daughter. lol

Word of caution. The board that you picked up and said was the power supply for the LCD is in fact the back light inverter for the LCD back light tubes. You should NOT touch that. Typical voltages range from 1000-1500 volts during the initial power up and remain at 600-800 volts while running. Bigger inverters in TV's put out over 10,000 volts in some cases.

@timewass it actually has a clear plastic case around it, you might not be able to tell from the video, but thank you for the info! i figured that was some time of power converter or something.
