This is the story of an Ottawa cancer patient, as she tells her own story to Lowell Green. She has been fighting her disease for 4 long years. She wants to point out that "other provinces get better health care than we do in Ontario".

I also compare statements and policy by the PC Party and the Liberal Party to let you decide which would better help Samantha.

Wrong -> you pay taxes that are twice as high as in the USA and you're not allowed to pay for medical treatment for your mother like you can for your dog. While Canada let's you get your dog a hip replacement, they make your mother wait it out and suffer. How is that FAIR? How is that WORTH the HIGHER TAXES we pay for this so called "service" ?

First of all, I never said that, in fact the point I was making is that Canada views a dogs life as more important than a humans life in the context of healthcare. You're interpreting something that isn't there.

Secondly, I worry for you if you equate the life of a human with the life of a dog. Seriously.

Dude - this IS in Canada you moron! People like Samantha are dying on waiting lists because she's not allowed to pay for her own treatment - Imagine, in this day and age, the government of Canada forcing you to SUFFER IN PAIN, SLOWLY DYING, instead of paying for your own cancer care. This has got to change.

My grandfather went through the same trouble when he got cancer about three years ago. He passed away in December. I live in Manitoba.

When will people stop lying about the shambles this system is in and face reality? This is LIFE we are dealing with.. drop the pride and let's face the fact that the system is a FAILURE. Honestly, it makes me so angry. I hope those of you who deny this problem don't have to learn the hard way - by losing someone you love and watching them suffer in the process.

Why shouldn't I equate the life of a human being with a dog. Actually, a matter of fact, dogs aren't the ones ruining the world. It's humans. We ourselves don't even equate ourselves equal in any way. We do not equate race, religion or sex, as well as several others. The planet is being ruined with the uproar of discrimination. Here we are, thinking we are the supreme species on this planet, when in fact, we have barely been on this earth.
