That guy looks high.

The problem is they "had to know how it was done," fifty years ago, but then they didn't have Youtube. They STAYED amazed. Oh, they could have went to the local library, but that was limited in scope. Nowadays, they can pull out their I phone right at your performance, go to the Youtube app, and find out the secret before they leave their seat in the audience!!
Man, it sucks!

you would think if he did all that research all that that he would take on the responsiblity of performing the techniques.
maybe he can't
Knowing the secret and being able to do this is two different things
I feel you bro,I am a professional magician.I need magic to not be a wage slave
one last thing. For hecklers,Buy Gazzo's book "Read between the one liners"
email me I have slamed hundreds of hecklers on the street

There's nothing wrong with looking up. Spoiling it is the problem.

hecklers are funny if you put them on the spot a lot of them back down.

Also, if hecklers are learning our secrets and are exposing our secrets while we are performing, just hand them your deck of cards and say, "Let's see if you can do it any better". They probably won't be able to do it because they know how it's done but they haven't practiced it...you will make them look like a fool in front of everyone.

If, after learning a simple self-working card trick (maybe something based on a mathematical principle) it should be up to them to create their own illusions and/or go and buy a book and/or DVD on how to do some more advanced stuff.

I think it might be fair to show some BEGINNER card tricks (and I mean TRUE beginners) so that noobies will have a place to start but I don't think we should reveal things like the DL, TT, EC, (if you're a magician reading this you should be able to figure out what those abbreviations are) false cuts and shuffles.
My curiosity of how to do tricks led me to being an amateur magician. And I look up card tricks and tutorials on youtube because I love to learn. However, it didn't ruin the fun for me because I love showing people tricks to see their reactions, and I love to put a smile on people's faces.
BUT: I would NEVER reveal someone else's trick. If I figured out how to do it, I would be happy I learned it and keep it quiet.
