TRA - Obelisk of Khamoon Artifact #1

The first artifact in the second Egypt level of Tomb Raider Anniversary called Obelisk of Khamoon.
Once you activate the switch, you'll have to hurry, because this is a timed run. I'm sorry for the various cuts (this video consists of 7 parts I cut together).

I appreciate the effort, but at 1:35 you can clearly see that the pole has sunk back into the wall. I understand that you cut parts together, but it would be nice to see a completely successful run at this.

I was still using the trial mode of Fraps, which would only allow 30 seconds of recording at one time. If you have any creative solution for the situation I was in at that time, please let me know.

On a lighter note, I'd do re-do it for you now, since I can, but I'm on vacations. :) If you allow me the time to fly back over the Atlantic, install TRA, play up to Egypt and then record it, I'll gladly do it. (This is not ironic.)

Be sure to keep the space bar down even when Lara's in the air.

Otherwise... Do you have a slow computer? I've experienced that Lara wouldn't grab on the ledge in City of Vilcabamba either and it was on a slow computer.

The grapple jump on this bit nearly never works for me...it's a complete lottery and since wall running to pick up speed and height only wastes time you have to get it in the first run :(

This will go into history as the most mean time trial in a Tomb Raider game of all time. Maybe even in all games in history xD

I tried it thousand times without the time pressure to get it right and I always died when I tried the jump on the wall. I tried it like three hours, and I still died, died, died. Then I thought: Fuck it! And tried it in real, with time pressure. I needed three more tries, and then did it. It's so freaking hard! So many mean ledges she has to grap quickly... So tricky!

I mean the time pressure for getting the artifact. :) It's a timed run.

It's a hard place and you should make sure that she goes high enough, i.e. not extracting the grapple right after jumping, so that she falls down a little longer and the grapple line is longer, meaning that she has a greater radius.

Don't hit the key which extracts the grapple immediately, so that the grapple will extend a bit longer. Admittedly, it's a hard place and you may want to try it without the time pressure at first. :)

I got psp and i watched 1aracroft guide. I've watched a lot of his vid, he is sure is a pro.

From his vid he jump starting from the right edge, followed it and got it on 1 try
