I'm also getting a Firefly vibe (which is ALWAYS a good thing): The future without all the depressing sterility you usually see in sci-fi.
On the other hand, I'm also not really feeling the robot-agenda. I want a sci-fi, like this, that allows itself to delve into the how the world is different, and 'how' humanity continues to exist. I think that's why Firefly has such a devout fanbase. The center of it was always 'people'. But... yeah. I'd watch. ^_^

This show just doesn't work for me. 1% of the earths population lives in a giant egg after a devastating famine but the plot line doesn't even revolve around that! The plot line is just i-Robot in and Indian setting.
