  • You're making my day! WOW!

  • @chicavahoney You just made ours! Thanks! :)

  • Just made this today. My 3 year old LOVES it!! I accidentally brought ribbon that is a little wider and it doesn't stay on the elastic. Also, after I tightened everything, the elastic had stretched, as you said, but now it seems there is not enough tulle and exposed elastic. I did make the elastic 2-3 inches shorter than what I wanted. Any suggestions? Before tightening, should I take it off my chair so the elastic can shrink back, and then tighten? I will try again because it was so fun. Thanks

  • @kawailani335 Yes, I would take the tutu off the chair before you tighten the tulle. You can always add more tulle if you want it more filled in. Just cut new strips and fill them in as needed. I had someone just the other day comment that her ribbons wouldn't tighten either because they were wider so she actually tied them onto the elastic with an ordinary knot. Hope this helps and have fun!!

  • I made one of these except I sewed mine to a ribbon

  • @kemanchie Try using both Net and Tulle and cut your pieces shorter. Make a row using Net and then top it with rows of Tulle. The Net will give you body (I would cut them about 10"-12" long so when folded are about 5"-6" long) and the tulle will give you softness (I would make the tulle a little longer than the net)

  • @laceandtrim my cousin has a wedding comeing up and im makeing my own dress and id like to make a tulle type poofy tutuy bottom to my dress that sticks out sideways like a ballerinas but we are a more punky family so it will be black and a very hot pink but im not sure how to make it stick out so much everytiem i try its too thin or it flops down.... any help you could give????

  • I just made aTuTu and it looks amazing! I was a fairy for Halloween! Im only 12, so if i can do it, you can.

  • @sandyryan1999 Actually I find wider = flufflier, thinner = flatter

  • @TheTriste13 If your waist is 28 inches I would suggest cutting your elastic for the waistband at 25 inches. Depending on how full you want to make your skirt you will need about 32 to 37 yards of 9 inch wide tulle which can be split into multiple colors.
