hi anti! yeh toor daal ko Urdu main kya kehtay hain? i am from Pakistan and here there is not such daal named Toor dal Can u tell me some other name of this daal?

Dear manjulaji, I got a pressure cooker from India since I was not very happy with the alternatives available in the US,,could you guide me with it - how many "seetis" or whistles of the pressure cooker before the daal is ready?

@juzplain Tamarind is a good sustitute for amchoor for this recipe but not in every recipe.
