Author Karen Hesse, winner of the prestigious Newbery Medal for children's literature and a MacArthur Fellowship, talks about why she contributed to What You Wish For: A Book For Darfur, a new collection of stories and poems about wishes, proceeds from which will fund libraries for Darfuri refugees in Chad.

The nonprofit Book Wish Foundation (http://bookwish.org) organized the collection and will donate 100% of its proceeds to the UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR (http://unhcr.org), to support the libraries.

Karen Hesse is a great author and deserves everything she has. Keep up the good work!

I also LOVE your book, "Stowaway".
