Pre-season press day - with sponsorship by UKFast.

Former Guinness Premiership champions Sale Sharks are aiming to get back to the top in 2010 with the help of a record seven figure sponsorship deal from new main backers UKFast.

Sale Sharks enter season 2009-2010 knowing all about the challenge, but with an unproven staff on and off the field. On the pitch, there are many experienced performers still on the books: Charlie Hodgson, Dwayne Peel, Mathew Tait, Mark Cueto to name four. There are new names: David Seymour, Gavin Kerr and surely the longest of them all, Sisaro Koyamaibole. Youth is going to be given its chance, in the shape of Carl Fearns and James Gaskell.

Behind the scenes, theres a balance of the tried and untested. Kingsley Jones and Phil Keith-Roach represent expertise in defensive and scrummaging areas, and they welcome fitness expert Peter Finch, coach Byron Hayward and the new Head Coach Jason Robinson. Players and coaches will have to get used to the new regime its a learning experience. The Heineken Cup beckons, with Harlequins, Cardiff Blues and Toulouse in the Sharks Pool. The club will wear a sizzling new European strip in the sponsors colours of black and cyan.

Backing the club are new major sponsors UKFast vibrant winners, ambitious, leaders in their own field, created in 1999, just like Sale Sharks.

It could be an emotional journey, with passion, surprises, highs and lows on the way.

Welcome to the opening act, the Clubs Press Day at Edgeley Park.
